A colleague of mine, Mary Martinez Drovie made these excellent morsels to eat a few weeks back. They are called Bacon Wrapped Weenies. First off, anything wrapped in bacon is excellent. What is even better is how easy they are to make. Here is the recipe.
BACON WRAPPED WEENIES
- 1 pound of maple bacon
- 1 (16 ounce) package of little smokie sausages
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 jar of toothpicks
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Cut the bacon into thirds. Wrap the weenies with bacon and place a toothpick in them. Place the finished weenies in a casserole dish. Pour the brown sugar on top of the weenies. You can then lay the additional bacon on top of the brown sugar. Cover the casserole dish. Bake for 60 minutes. Place the finished weenies on a plate and enjoy.
Not only does Mary provide great recipes but she is a budding artist. Visit her Facebook page at Paloma Art Studio. A website will be available shortly.
